Apple announces iPad Air, iPad mini with Retina display
On October 22, 2013, Apple announced the retina iPad Mini, and the new iPad Air. The iPad Air has 9.7 inch display, and is 20% thinner than the previous generation iPad. At the weight of 1 pound, it is the "lightest tablet in the world" says Apple's Phil Schiller. It has a 64 bit, A7 chip that Apple previously launched for the iPhone 5s, and the M7 motion coprocessor. The graphics performance is doubled of the previous generation iPad. It is also 72x faster than the original iPad. It comes with a 5 MP camera that shoots HD video, and improved front-facing facetime camera, Siri and dual microphones, and it maintains the same 10 hour battery life as the last model.
